Hako Charity Golf Day
Success at our Hako Charity Golf Day
By Georgia Fellows
On Thursday 12th August 2021, Hako held a charity golf day at The Welcombe, a stunning hotel and golf-course in Stratford-Upon-Avon. Organised and co-ordinated by Craig Metcalf, Sales Director, the event was raising money for Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children.
Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children, has the UK’s largest range of specialist health services for children, with 63 different clinical specialties at the hospital. The hospital is the largest paediatric centre in the UK for: paediatric intensive care, cardiac surgery, neurosurgery, paediatric cancer services including bone marrow transplants, nephrology and renal transplants. Children from overseas are supported and treated in their International and Private Patient wing. The hospital offers many children and their families physical, mental and emotional support through challenging times.
GOSH is such a worthwhile and high profile charity who have supported members of the team Hako family, it’s no wonder that many suppliers, customers and colleagues wanted to support the event.
The stableford event was sponsored by a range of companies and businesses that Hako collaborates with, businesses involved who sponsored a hole on the course were:
- Flame ETC
- GPC Group
- Saffa Designs
- Talent Tech
- Your Tender Team
Overall, the day raised over £10,000 for Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children, with £600 of that coming from a raffle with prizes kindly donated by some of the businesses at the event;
- 3 bottles of champagne supplied by Hako for the longest drive,
- 4 ball at JCB supplied by Briggs,
- 4 ball at The Welcombe, supplied by The Welcombe,
- Truvox vacuum supplied by Truvox for the nearest pin,
- A box of golf balls supplied by Battery Service Hub,
- £100 American Golf voucher supplied by Briggs Northern Ireland,
- £100 American Golf voucher supplied by Sigma Rock.
The sun shone throughout, making the day even more special. Having been a tough time for everyone over the last year, it was wonderful getting together, playing golf and raising money for a fantastic charity.
